The Pixie-Bob is a TICA and ACFA registered breed. We are please and proud to be accepted in
ACFA as a registered breed. I want to personally say a BIG thank you for the hard work of many of
our breeders that have made this dream a reality.
Pixie-Bob come in short and long hair.
The short hair must have a stand out coat, that stands off the body instead of lying flat against
the body
The long hair Pixie-Bob is a medium length that is softer but not much longer than the short hair
The Pixie-Bob is a domestic cat bred to resemble a North American Bobcat. Their wild look hides
their sweet gentle nature. Once you get to know a pixie-bob you'll never want another breed.
The breed was developed using barn and feral cats, of unknown ancestry
There is a story that bobcats, in the wild, will sometimes breed with a feral barn/farm cat. It is
said that often the first generation of these matings will be overlooked because they resemble
the domestic cat
Many Pixie-Bobs have been tested for possible bobcat DNA, all have tested negative
The Pixie-Bob is loyal, dog like in their devotion to their family
It is common to have your Pixie-Bob waiting at the door for you when you arrive home
The Pixie-Bob is intelligent beyond belief
A cat with the wisdom of the wild and the nature of the domestic
They are very inquisitive
Pixie-Bobs are busy, but not destructive
Most Pixie-Bobs enjoy riding in cars, watching the traffic, chasing the wipers or just curled up in
the front seat beside you.
Easy to train to walk on a leash
They fetch and enjoy interacting with their family, quite often they are the one to initiate the
game. They all seem to have their own favorite toys and interests, each pixie has their own
individual personality. We try very hard to match their personality to that of their new owner.
Pixie- bobs are quiet, get along well with children and other family pets, they have a very unique
way of communicating with their human companions. Pixie bobs pick their owner /owners so,
don't be too surprised if the kitty you picked out decides to pick someone else in the family to be
their loyal pal.
Pixie-Bobs develop a strong BOND with their family. The purchase of your pixie-bob should be a
life long commitment. We know that sometime this is not always possible and we are here to help
with re-homing should the need arise.
